qMp 3.1 Clearance

The new stable qMp release published - 15/12/2014

qMp 3.1 Clearance stable release has been published. This release comes after testing the previous RC1 and fixing a number of bugs. It is recommended to use this version to deploy new Mesh networks and to upgrade from previous releases that might be outdated.

Before upgrading from previous versions (3.0.2) to this new release, make a backup of all your configuration files in /etc directory. After that, you can use the command-line tool "qmpcontrol upgrade" that automates the upgrade process (for x86/Alix devices see known issues section below).

Changes since previous release (3.1 RC):

  • Added firmware name, version and codename to the operating system (e.g. qMp 3.1 Clearance)

Bugs fixed since previous release (3.1 RC):

  • HTML tags shown around text in network testing tools (issue 329)

Changes since previous release (3.0.2):

  • Switch to OpenWrt 14.07 Barrier Breaker
  • New theme for the user interface (based on Bootstrap)
  • BMX6 update (backwards compatible with version compat. 0.16-alpha)
  • Support for new devices (a few new Ubiquiti, TP-Link and Ralink/Mediatek-based devices)
  • Better control on wireless card modes
  • RAMIPS and MPC85xx OpenWrt architectures added
  • All OpenWrt packages compiled and available for download from qMp's own repository
  • Minimal flavour of qMp for 4 MB flash devices

Bugs fixed since previous release (3.0.2):

Known issues:

  • qmpcontrol upgrade does not work on x86 devices (e.g. Alix boards) (see issue 326 for details)
  • 5 GHz 802.11ac wireless not supported on D-Link DIR-810L

The qMp 3.1 firmware binaries will be stored at http://fw.qmp.cat/Releases/archive/3.1-Clearance. While being the stable, they can also be found at http://fw.qmp.cat/stable.
